I’m volunteering with the homeless in downtown Halifax for the month of May. This is kind of like a mission trip, so it costs $1700. It’s with IVCF.

In small group, one of the girls was sharing about a particularly difficult passage to understand, and what she had discovered it meant. Along the way, we came across the following site:

It’s a site that clears up some confusing passages in Scripture (Uzziah touching the ark of the covenant and dying, why Cain’s sacrifice didn’t please God, etc.). We all (well, I can’t speak for everyone, so maybe I’ll just say I) turned into little children when someone tells us a cool fact. 

Isn’t it amazing when you read a passage of Scripture, and at first it seems really confusing and doesn’t seem to be right, but then when you find out how it actually points to Christ, your mind is just blown?

Passages like these remind me not to just ignore or skip over tough Scriptures. They have treasures inside :)

He is THE WORST LIVING CRIMINAL. He abducts children and makes them use guns to kill their own parents. He takes girls and forces them to be sex slaves. He calls his abducted children the Lord’s Resistance Army, AKA the LRA. He has abducted over 30,000 children and forced them to be child soldiers in Central Africa. He remains at large because he is INVISIBLE to the world. FEW know his name, even FEWER know his crimes. WE ARE MAKING HIM FAMOUS! Because when he is, the world will unite against him and demand his arrest.

We can help make a change. We can make a difference.

I feel so inspired. I feel the need to help and make a difference. This has to happen in 2012. We can’t let him go around and keep doing this to children in Central Africa. Let’s make his name known so he can be stopped. HE CAN NO LONGER BE INVISIBLE!

This was actually post Valentines, because on Valentines day I was having a day with Joseph (who is not my boyfriend). Joseph…

STAUFFER! Hahaha…that’s the Queens library, by the way. Yeah, I was pretty much studying all day, so I felt kind of bad and decided to bake a cake for him (although that in itself was a bit of an adventure because I had to sneakily find out what his favourite cake was), but it was a chocolate cheesecake! I have never made these things before, I was like ‘hmm this will be easy!’

My cake cracked. I was sad. So I piled on a mountain of fruit to hide my rookie mistake (according to another cake making friend, he said to bake the cake in a tray of water, I guess the moisture is supposed to help?) Anyways, Here are some of the pictures that I have…

Yes, we accidentally started eating it before taking a picture of it.

So anyways, after eating this disgustingly unhealthy cake by yours truly, we went to spin. The dessert place. I don’t know what we were thinking. We left the cake with the other guys in our year though.

Anyways, I would like to bake more, but sadly I have little time these days :( oh well!
